BIO

Francesco Bassi, PhD, is a biomedical engineering researcher at the Department of Engineering and Architecture, University of Trieste, Italy. He received his MSc in Clinical Engineering (2022) and his PhD in Industrial and Information Engineering (2026) from the University of Trieste. His doctoral thesis, supervised by Prof. Agostino Accardo, was about assessing and modelling ear function with a new pressureless acoustic immittance method. His research interests cover biomedical signal and image processing, physiological processes modelling, machine learning for clinical decision support and the design and validation of medical devices. Projects include middle-ear diagnostics, custom 3D-printed CPAP masks for children, motion and EMG analysis and Health Technology Assessment.
